_Well, my wife and I are actually road warriors now. Throughout the stages of our marriage, we traveled very little. once per year. This was because of either absence of funds or my demanding working arrangements. Hate to use that as an excuse, but it was the truth. I understood this was difficult for my spouse because she had been a traveler before we married nearly eighteen yrs ago. I guaranteed my partner that we would begin traveling to see the country soon after we got married. That was my goal as that time and dream I was determined to see come to fruition. A few years after we had our first child, we setup a summer trip to visit a camp ground in Maine. We originally wanted to get a RV to take to the campground, but decided against it and ended up purchasing an outdoor tent. After a little initial online and in-person homework, we moved forward with getting a Swiss Gear Outdoor Montreaux Family Dome Tent. And it was a great investment….right from the start we liked the design and stability of the tent. But not only did it look fantastic, but we were at ease with its ruggedness. The tent did not take up much space when we were packing and it was not hard to assemble with the help of the instructions that came along with it. Now, I must say that I wish they would have provided more label on the items themselves, but on the whole the setup went smooth.
Wouldn’t it be my luck that our first camping session begun on a storm filled day….just great. I mean, when the weatherman says there's only a 10 % chance of a thunderstorm, you would think the storm would take place elsewhere and not directly over you. Well, even though the storm was brief, the amount of wind and rain released was a bit more than what I expected. But, our Swiss Gear Tent held up well throughout. Granted, we did get a little wet, but what would you expect even with the water-resistant polyethylene floor? Outside of the rain event, the tent had other nice features such as a divider to separate areas within the tent. Extra side rooms for extra space, if required. There was room enough to maneuver and get better situated. The ceiling was mesh and so were the windows which offer ample air flow. The truncated corners provided tent stability as we saw in the storm.
The tent served us well for the remainder of that camping session as well as our last few camping trips. The purchase price wasn't bad either…definitely cost-effective. With the tent being a Swiss Gear product, we knew it must be rather well-made and it was. We're looking towards adding more tools to our own camping equipment stock as we are getting ready for a big trip to Montana this upcoming summer. We're probably going to make the trip with family. We know it’s going to be exciting and look forward to sharing with you our Montana experience. Thanks for finding the time to read this post and review on the Swiss Gear Outdoor Dome Tent.
